A Dear John letter to the Democratic Senate campaign committee

Dear DSCC

I am writing you this letter to explain why I am not contributing to the party or its candidates this year, and in hopes that someone might actually read it and that someone might actually do something about my concerns.

I am not contributing because I have lost faith in the party and its organization.  In the last 6 years the Republicans have taken over 31 states and are in the process of wreaking irreparable harm on the country.  Have you noticed?  Being a Democrat is like rooting for the Chicago Cubs.  It appears the only thing the party is good for is getting its politicians reelected to seats where they will do nothing and accomplish nothing.  Except get themselves reelected.

They (and you) certainly will do little if anything to defend the states and the country against their Neanderthal agenda.  These troglodytes have an agenda, plans and organization.  What, pray tell do the democrats have?

This assault on the body politic has been in the making for years sponsored by the Kochs and other right wing billionaires.  The construction of their infrastructure  (foundations, think tanks, university endowments, journals, magazines,  ALEC and counting)  has been occurring in plain sight, without, evidently any effort whatsoever to counter it by the Democratic Party.  Talk about the chickens sleeping while the python eats their flock.

With their stranglehold on the state legislatures they are moving and have moved to solidify their power by gerrymandering and passing legislation to suppress the vote of citizens against their agenda.  What have you done about this?  Bewailed the loss of your precious seats?  And raised campaign contributions.

Your seats…your precious seats.  You sit on them for decades while the conservatives steal the country blind.

One would hope –or request—or pray for a party organization that could at least deliver a message to the country.  Every day the neocons are hammering, hammering hammering at the message that the country is in the toilet (fault of the president of course), that the president is weak and feckless and on and on.  It is even possible that you have noticed this.  Have you noticed the fact that a president whose reputation is damaged drags down his party in the next election?

Voters from both parties are angry and alienated.  It is up to you to inform the voters that it is the Republicans who have sabotaged the country.  You ought to be on this message every day –three times a day morning noon and night, gathering up their own unguarded boasts – make Obama a one term president; we made a Benghazi committee and dragged down Hillary’s numbers; lame duck presidents aren’t allowed to appoint Supreme Court judges…and a stream of similar bull shit.

Get busy and fight back.

All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

Yours,

Junius
